Byron Yoshino

Byron Yoshino comes from a family with a legacy of serving Hawaiʻi through pharmacy care dating back to 1927. For more than 30 years, he has been instrumental in launching and leading locally owned pharmacies across the state, helping shape accessible, community focused pharmacy services. He opened his first retail pharmacy in ʻAiea in 1980, later establishing the pharmacy division of Times Supermarkets. In 1983, he co-founded Pharmacare Hawaiʻi with Richard Sakurada, laying the foundation for what would become one of the state’s most trusted locally owned pharmacy providers. Today, Byron oversees all business with a focus on driving shareholder value and guiding long term strategy. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of the Pacific and later completed the University of Hawaiʻi’s Executive Business Program, strengthening his foundation in both clinical practice and business leadership.
